Welcome!
Improving public transit one stop at a time.
Every Stop Counts is an APTA Emerging Leaders Program capstone project focused on the common North American bus stop - an asset that provides critical infrastructure for access to the transit network. On the heels of historic federal investment in rail station infrastructure, these Emerging Leaders implore for increased attention on the average bus stop. This group did an industry wide survey, select interviews, and are providing some reframing recommendations for transit authorities to begin to approach their bus stops and associated elements with renewed vision and strategy.
58 transit agencies participated in our nationwide survey - from large urban to small rural agencies.
The survey provided breadth - an industrywide benchmark of current conditions of bus stops across the nation.
Detailed interviews were conducted with several agencies of different sizes from around the country.
This provided the depth to the survey results to provide some of the back story to the findings.
